FLUFFY TAILS GROOMING SALON

A "bad hair day" may be a fashion faux pas for you but it can be much more troublesome for your dog. A coat that is in poor condition, excessively long, densely matted, or dirty may lead to skin problems, discomfort, and flea and tick infestations. Regular grooming can help prevent these problems and keep your dog happier and healthier too.

As a rule of thumb, breeds with stylized clips such as Poodles and Shih Tzus should have a complete groom every six to eight weeks. Other breeds with less demanding needs should have a complete groom three to four times a year.

We offer grooming services for all breeds by our professional pet grooming team. While your pet is being looked after, we'll also show you how to care for his or her coat between groomings to ensure that bad hair days are a thing of the past.

A complete groom includes:

  • A shampoo and fluff drying
  • The cut of your choice
  • Ear cleaning and plucking
  • Trimming of hair in the foot pads
  • Nail clipping
  • Expression of your dog's anal glands

  • Emi Toyooka, Professional Pet Groomer

Emi is our talented groomer here at Wellesley Animal Hospital. She recently moved to Canada after training as a pet groomer in Tokyo, Japan. Growing up in Japan, she was surrounded by animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, mice, birds, turtles, frogs, eels, gold fish carp, crayfish, insects…the list goes on! Emi sadly had to leave behind 3 dogs in Japan, including a Maremma sheepdog, who she acquired while in New Zealand for high school.

Emi also studied dog training in Japan for 2 years, and is excited to be able to utilize her dog training skills by working with her grooming patients in a gentle and caring manner. Her outside hobbies include hip hop/R&B music, watching movies, sleeping, and working out. She has recently started learning hip hop dance since arriving in Canada, and loves it!
